Pasta Bolognese is a classic dish in Italian cuisine. Originating from Bologna, it’s a hearty sauce that pairs perfectly with any type of pasta. This recipe will guide you step by step to prepare this delicious dish.

Ingredients

  • 400g spaghetti (or any pasta you want to eat)
  • 500g ground beef
  • 2 finely chopped onions
  • 2 finely chopped carrots
  • 2 finely chopped celery stalks
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 800g canned chopped tomatoes
  • 150ml red wine
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the onions, carrots, and celery and cook until softened.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Add the ground beef and season with salt and pepper. Cook until the meat is browned and crumbled.
  4. Pour in the wine and let it simmer until the alcohol has evaporated.
  5. Add the chopped tomatoes, stir everything together and reduce the heat. Let the sauce simmer for 30-40 minutes, or until it’s thick and rich.
  6. Cook the spaghetti as per the instructions on the package. Drain and set aside.
  7. Pour the Bolognese sauce over the pasta and stir together. Serve hot with grated Parmesan cheese on top.
