A Heavenly Chocolate Cake Recipe
If you’re a chocolate lover, we’ve got the perfect treat for you! This recipe is a result of several trials and a lot of tastings, which led to a decadent, rich, and moist cake you’ll fall in love with after just one bite!
Ingredients
- 1 & 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups granulated white sugar
- 3/4 cups unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 & 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 & 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare two 9-inch cake pans by buttering them lightly, lining with a parchment paper round.
- In a mixing bowl, combine all the dry ingredients. This includes the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Mix well.
- Into the same bowl, add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla. Mix well until the batter is smooth and well combined.
- While mixing, slowly add the boiling water to the batter. Be careful as the batter will be thin, but that’s okay. It’s supposed to be that way!
- Pour the batter into the two prepared pans equally. Bake them for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool in the pans for about 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before frosting.
Finishing Touches
Now for the frosting, you can prepare a classic chocolate ganache or a buttercream frosting, both work wonderfully. Once your cakes are cool, frost them as you prefer and get ready to serve the most delicious chocolate cake ever!
