Ingredients

  1. For the cake
    • 1 cup All-purpose Flour
    • 1.5 tsp Baking Powder
    • 1/4 tsp Salt
    • 5 large Eggs, separated
    • 1 cup Granulated Sugar, divided
    • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
    • 1/3 cup Whole Milk
  2. For the Tres Leches:
    • 1 can Evaporated Milk
    • 1 can Sweetened Condensed Milk
    • 1/4 cup Whole Milk
    • 1/4 cup Brewed Coffee
  3. For the Topping:
    • 1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
    • 3 tbsp Granulated Sugar
    • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13” pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, beat egg yolks with 3/4 cup sugar until the yolks turn pale yellow.
  4. Pour the egg yolk mixture over the flour mixture and mix gently.
  5. Beat egg whites on high speed until soft peaks form (as you did with the yolks)…
